Sepänkallio-Storhemt masterplan drafts an active residential area housing approximately 7000 new residents in the prestigious agricultural landscape north of Suurpelto in Espoo. Masterplan unifies and densifies the urban structure of the city and enhances the connections between the site and the surrounding recreation areas and natural reserves. The main driver of the proposed urban structure is preserving the landmarks of Storhemt hill, Gerk Manor and the existing agricultural landscape as a feature. The master plan offers a framework for a sustainable lifestyle close to nature. The goal of the plan is to update the land-use plan along the developing public transit corridors in Espoo. Further detailed planning of the area is underway by the city.
